Vandretur rundt om Hampen sø – 5 km.
Hampen sø ligger 79 meter over havet og er dermed den næsthøjest beliggende sø i Jylland og en af de reneste søer i Danmark. Søen er fredet og der må derfor ikke fiskes i søen. Søen ligger i Palsgård skov som dækker 1043 hektar. Skoven er en gammel hedeplantage, i dag består skoven af områder med nåletræer, eg og bøg og områder med højmoser, enge og overdrev.
For at nå til søen og parkere er det nemmest at køre til hoved 13 – find pluskode længere nede på siden. Ved denne parkeringsplads lå der indtil 1890’erne en hærvejskro, Hampen Kro, hvor studedriverne kunne spise og overnatte og kvæget få noget at drikke. Vest for den nuværende hovedvej er der rester af den studefold, der hørte til kroen.
Stien rundt om Hampen sø løber tæt på søen og kan derfor være våd og fedtet. Der er gjort meget ud og udkigspunkter og siddepladser rundt om søen.
Der er rigeligt dyreliv på og omkring søen, og du kan nemt støde på rådyr og mange forskellige fugle og insekter.
