This mini-holiday takes you out to beautiful and exciting springs, streams and lakes. You come to the Gudenåen and Skjernåen's springs in Tinnet Krat. One short bike ride takes you to historic Rørbæk lake. Enjoy the beautiful landscape and how nature has created historic places.
The route is 50 km. which goes partly on paved roads and a bit on gravel roads. A number of stops are made and there is plenty of time at the various stops.
Program
DAY 1 - MONDAY - ARRIVAL AND THE RECOVERED BRIDGE<</h3 >
14.00 - 16.00: Arrival Holmely and check-in. It is possible to check in later, write a comment about arrival when you book.
When you arrive at Holmely, you will be shown around the place and assigned your chosen form of accommodation. Everything is tidied up and there are towels ready for you. It is possible to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of bubbles before the afternoon bike ride.
15.00 - 18.30: Cycle ride to Den Genfundne Bro. After check-in, it is possible to take a nice afternoon trip to Den Genfundne Bro only 12 km from Holmely. Den Genfundne Bro was built in 1899 and was part of the old Horsens - Silkeborg railway. Read the story of the bridge here.< /p>
19:00: Dinner. After a lovely day on the bike you end up back at Holmely. Dinner consists of delicious tapas with fresh meat and cheese from the local dairy. Drinks are available for purchase.
DAY 2 - TUESDAY - SUN & SOURCES WITH HISTORICAL CONTENTS
8.00 - 9.00: Breakfast. Holmely's large breakfast buffet with cheese, ham, eggs, skyr, muesli, bread, juice, coffee and tea.
10.00: Start on Lake & Kildevæld tour of 62 km. Before departure, the bike bags are packed with snacks and water for the trip. The route will be explained to you and a detailed route description will be given to you. On this trip, you first drive out to Tinnet krat, where the Gudenåen and Skjernåen have their source, here you will also find the remains of a water park from the 1930s. A short trip from the springs is Tinnetgaard where it is possible to visit their farm shop and flower garden. A few kilometers from here you arrive at Rørbæk lake. It is possible to go for a short walk by Rørbæk sø, after which lunch is eaten at Rørbæk sø Restaurant.
After lunch at Rørbæksø Restaurant, the trip goes towards the Vrads area. Before Vrads comes to beautiful Torup lake, take a rest here and enjoy the view. From here the trip goes back towards Holmely, through beautiful heathland and forests.
17.30: Dinner at Holmely. This evening a hearty meal is enjoyed at one of the surrounding restaurants.
It is possible to light a fire and have fun with talk and stories from past times but also today's great experiences.
DAY 3 - WEDNESDAY - CHECK OUT OR START PURCHASED TOUR</ h3>
8.00 - 9.00: Breakfast. Holmely's large breakfast buffet.
10.00: Check out

More about the lake and the spring route
In Central Jutland, on the Jutland ridge, Denmark's two largest rivers, Gudenåen and Skjernåen, originate only a few hundred meters apart and run in different directions towards the sea. In the same place, Hærvejen crosses the river valley, where it has been Jutland's main road no.1 for millennia. Oak thickets grow everywhere in the landscape and the area is full of exciting cultural history framed by beautiful and varied nature.
Gudenåen, with its 160 km, is Denmark's longest stream, while Skjernåen, with its 94 km, is the 4th longest and the richest in water.
The two streams have their source a few hundred meters apart in the same north-south valley depression at the main watershed on the Jutland ridge. The area consists of 596 hectares of protected oak scrub, meadows and meadows.
